{"id":331,"date":"2015-05-01T12:00:59","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T10:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/harsmann.com\/blog\/?p=331"},"modified":"2020-04-13T13:50:44","modified_gmt":"2020-04-13T11:50:44","slug":"planting-the-seeds-of-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harsmann.com\/site\/2015\/05\/planting-the-seeds-of-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Planting the Seeds of 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Time has passed since I wrote about <a href=\"http:\/\/harsmann.com\/site\/2015\/03\/sowing-the-seeds-of-2015\/\">sowing the seeds for this year&#8217;s greenhouse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The tomatoes were repotted on Apr 12, the chilies repotted on Apr 21.<\/p>\n<p>The chilies\u00a0haven&#8217;t sprouted well. Out of 60 seeds came only about 20 plants worth repotting &#8211; some of them being an actual disappointment (partly my own fault though &#8211; I don&#8217;t think I compressed the soil in the trays properly when sowing, so either the cells dried out, or I buried the seeds to deep.<\/p>\n<p>Tomatoes were excellent, though. Most sprouted and<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ili-indent\">\n<li>Bloody Butcher: 11 seeds, kept 5 of\u00a06<\/li>\n<li>Black Cherry: 10 seeds, kept 4 of 8<\/li>\n<li>Tangidel: 10 seeds, kept 4 of 8<\/li>\n<li>Rosadel: 10 seeds, kept 3 of 7<\/li>\n<li>Sungold: 5 seeds, kept 3 of 5<\/li>\n<li>Tumbler: 5 seeds, kept 3 of 5<\/li>\n<li>First in the FIelds: 5 seeds, kept 3 of 5<\/li>\n<li>Gardener&#8217;s Delight: kept 3 of 5<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That is 28 plants and I only need 14, so plenty to give away to friends, family and colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Now the windowsill is full of plants.
