Two sowing trays with 12 rows of 5 pots. One tray for chilies, one tray for tomatoes.\u00a0Like most years, our favorite cultivars get two rows to ensure we end up with good plants. The trays\u00a0have dome on top and are placed in a west-facing windowsill.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what was sown:<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chilies<\/span><\/i><em style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a02015<\/em><\/p>\n<ol class=\"ili-indent\">\n<li>Cayenne Long Slim<\/li>\n<li>Cayenne Long Slim<\/li>\n<li>Lemon Drop<\/li>\n<li>Lemon Drop<\/li>\n<li>Habanero<\/li>\n<li>Habanero<\/li>\n<li>Friars Hat<\/li>\n<li>Jalapeno<\/li>\n<li>Hungarian Black<\/li>\n<li>Tolles Sweet Italian<\/li>\n<li>Goat Horn<\/li>\n<li>Elephants Trunk<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Tomatoes 2015<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ol class=\"ili-indent\">\n<li>Bloody Butcher<\/li>\n<li>Bloody Butcher<\/li>\n<li>Black Cherry<\/li>\n<li>Black Cherry<\/li>\n<li>Tangidel<\/li>\n<li>Tangidel<\/li>\n<li>Rosadel<\/li>\n<li>Rosadel<\/li>\n<li>Sungold<\/li>\n<li>Tumbler<\/li>\n<li>First in the Field<\/li>\n<li>Gardener&#8217;s Delight<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All seeds from 2015.<\/p>\n<p>It feels like late in the spring to plant the seeds, however, when looking into my records, it doesn&#8217;t look too bad:<\/p>\n<p>2014: Mar 2<br \/>\n2012: Mar 17 and Apr 1<br \/>\n2010: Feb 28 (Chilies), Mar 21 (Tomatoes &amp; Chilies)<\/p>\n<p>and regardless, I can&#8217;t sow them earlier than what I have done now.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mar 24<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday the first tomato seedling was visible.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Mar 28<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Almost all tomato seeds have sprouted\u00a0and the dome is removed.\u00a0The tray is turned so that the seedlings get sun from the other side.\u00a0No chiliis have sprouted yet, but that is not expected either.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/harsmann.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/20150328-Tomatoes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-291 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/harsmann.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/20150328-Tomatoes-1024x579.jpg\" alt=\"20150328 Tomatoes\" width=\"660\" height=\"373\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Mar 31<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now the chili seedlings are showing too and dome #2\u00a0is coming off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday Mar 19 I sowed the seeds for this year&#8217;s greenhouse.
